Fresh Water Mer

Something about going home makes me always want to draw fresh water mermaids. Smaller than their salt water cousins but still just as interesting to me.
I love the swamp where I grew up--it's a place of fantasy and lore it just MAKES me draw mermaids and fairies...

This mer is a bit of a mix between a brim with all the spines and a gar with her dapple coloring.

Done on Bristol Board with copic markers sitting on my parents' front porch.
